WestEd – Infant/Toddler Training
What is Infant/Toddler Training? Fun, hands-on, early childhood training that discusses issues about infants and toddlers. What is the goal of the WestEd curriculum?
To enhance provider’s knowledge about infants and toddlers, in turn improving care for them. What information do the classes cover? - Group Care - Learning and Development - Social Emotional Growth - Culture, Family and Providers What will I get out of it? *An opportunity to share your knowledge and learn from other’s knowledge about infants and toddlers. *An opportunity to network with other child care providers. *Training opportunity that applies toward licensing requirements. *An opportunity to apply for grant money to help enhance care for infants and toddlers. How Do I sign up? Contact the Family Resource Network for information on specific class topics, locations and dates of training.
Grant Opportunity! In addition to learning more about infants and toddlers, providers can receive grant money to put toward infant and toddler equipment! To be eligible for the grant providers must: *Have completed 20 hours of training by a qualified WestEd trainer. *Be registered or licensed by the State or in the process of becoming licensed or registered. *Be currently providing care to infants and/or toddlers or have plans to expand infant and toddler slots. *Complete an application in which the provider must describe how the granted items relates to their Infant/Toddler training. The maximum amount that can be applied for is $200 per participant, with Family Child Cares receiving up to $200, Group Family Child Cares receiving up to $600, and Centers receiving up to $1000.
